Cassandra Rieser, Soil Scientist

Cassie graduated from Colorado State University in 2008 with a B.S. in both Agricultural Economics and Soil & Crop Science. While attending school, a viticulture internship in Viella, France illuminated the integral part soils play in the quality and structure of wine. After graduating, she entered the wine industry by way of a winery harvest internship, which soon was followed by a job in vineyard management for 6 years working with Phil Coturri at Enterprise Vineyards, specializing in organic and biodynamic viticulture.

In order to purse her interest in soils, Cassie returned to academia in 2018 and obtained her Master’s Degree in Soil Science from Washington State University. While at WSU she conducted research on soil health and soil microbial communities in agricultural systems.

She is a licensed Pest Control Adviser (pending) and QAL. She lives in Sonoma, CA.
